Special Assistance
Vacation Watch & Extra Patrol Services
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office offers special assistance services to help keep your property safe while you are away. Whether you’re traveling, away for an extended period, or have specific concerns, deputies can provide additional patrol attention to your home or business.
Vacation Watch (Property Checks)
If you plan to be out of town, you can request that deputies periodically check on your property.
During these checks, deputies may:
- Patrol the area surrounding your home or business
- Look for signs of suspicious activity
- Check for visible security concerns (open doors, broken windows, etc.)
- Provide a visible law enforcement presence to help deter crime
While this service does not guarantee constant monitoring, it adds an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
